The Certificate in Trust Advisory (CTA) is a professional certification programme offered by MFPA. It is designed to equip financial planners with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide your clients with competent and ethical trust advisory services.

The CTA programme is open to members of MFPA and financial representatives who have experience in financial planning. It is suitable for professionals such as private bankers/relationship managers, insurance advisors, licensed financial advisors/financial planners, unit trust/private retirement schemes consultants, lawyers, accountants/tax consultants, and anyone serving the HNW (High Net Worth) private client segment.

The CTA programme has a duration of a total of 23 hours inclusive of pre-recorded tutorial videos and assignments, live webinars, research and reading materials, as well as examination.

The CTA programme requires candidates to take a comprehensive examination consisting of 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) while the duration of the examination is two hours with a passing rate of 60% and above. You will know the result instantly right after you sit for the exam.

The Certificate in Trust Advisory (CTA) course is certified by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). UTM is responsible for ensuring the quality and standards of the programme, as well as issuing the certification upon successful completion.

Yes, before taking the CTA exam, you need to become a member of MFPA. Membership provides access to the CTA programme and its resources.

After completing the CTA registration and payment, you will be granted access to video tutorials, course handouts, and reading materials. These resources can be accessed anytime and anywhere, including examination. You can choose the time that suits you best to watch the course videos and take the exams.

There is an opportunity to take the CTA exam every day. If you are unable to pass the exam on your first attempt, you can retake the exam on the following day at no additional cost.

The timing of the CTA graduation ceremony depends on factors such as the number of participants and the prevailing environment in each location. The institute will decide when and where to hold the graduation ceremony based on these considerations.

The entire CTA course (tutorials, webinars, examinations) is primarily conducted online, with the exception of the graduation ceremony which will be taking place offline.

It is necessary to become an MFPA member in order to enroll in the CTA course.

No, the tutorial videos are only available for online watching straight from the MFPA website and cannot be downloaded.

Please ensure that you have successfully enrolled and logged in before accessing the tutorial materials as the tutorial materials can only be accessed once you have enrolled in the course and made the necessary payment.

We highly encourage your participation in the webinar as it is a requirement for graduation. Failure to attend the webinar may result in the cancellation of your certificate.

You can take the exam at any convenient time after you have completed all the videos and handouts. There is no fixed date or time for the exam.

The course materials will remain available on the website until the end of the intake. You will still have access to them until the intake closes.
